![]() It would also help if the OP had said why he needed to combine the log files into a single file. (or maybe he wanted someone to do the work for him?) No response on the notepad-text question. ![]() If it is, it also depends on if there's an ending blank line (enter or carriage return). Open one in notepad and see if it's all text. If they are text then there is an easy way to join them to one file. If they are a binary file then you will damage them if you're not careful. Google can help once you know the lay of of the land, but isn't too helpful if you don't know what to search for. Hopefully this gives you enough to start with. Many GPS programs (including GeoSetter) want to call GPSBabel, so you need to have it installed anyway. I am revisiting GPS logging (because my wife and I just took a few trips and I have geo-logged images to process) and just discovered GeoSetter, which looks cool. But both NMEA and GPX are plain ASCII files so you can open them in Notepad to do a sanity check. Dunno-I haven't fooled with GPS files for a while and I am a bit fuzzy about it. But when I told GPSBabel to export the combined logs as NMEA 0183, it produced an empty file. I just tried GPSBabel on a few SX230 logs and it could combine several and export the combined logs as a single GPX XML file just fine. ![]() (I wasn't sure about this, but referred to this DPReview post.) I've processed SX230 GPS log files before and used the logs to geo-tag images from my own DSLRs that don't have a GPS built in (using Breezesys Downloader Pro.)Īnyway, GPSBabel can read NMEA 0183 files and can combine multiple log files. I don't know about the 6D, but my wife has a SX230 that has a GPS and it saves logs in NMEA 0183 format. ![]() log files of the whole trip.but I have many individual. I loved the function of the gps logger which provides. I recently started photographing with my Canon 6D and traveled around Central America. ![]()
